Tom Wesselmann — New book launch
Almine Rech and Almine Rech Editions are pleased to announce the launch of the new book 'Tom Wesselmann: The Great American Nude,' in collaboration with Gagosian and the Estate of Tom Wesselmann. This is the first comprehensive publication dedicated to the artist's most famous body of work, made between 1961 and 1973.
In celebration of the book launch, a talk between Art historian and curator Susan Davidson, author of the book, and Jeffrey Sturges, director of exhibitions for the Estate of Tom Wesselmann, will take place at Rizzoli Bookstore, New York, on Saturday, May 10, 2025, 5pm.
Moderated by Lauren Mahony, the conversation will cover the 'Great American Nude' series, which combines sensual depictions of the female figure with references to art history and popular culture, and stories about the creation of the four-hundred-page monograph.
