Almine Rech is pleased to announce the participation of artist Carlos Jacanamijoy in the curated section 'Wametisé: Ideas for an Amazofuturism' at ARCOmadrid, from March 5 to March 9, 2025.

'Wametisé: Ideas for an Amazofuturism' explores new forms of creation that represent hybrid existences between human, vegetal, physical, and metaphysical bodies. On this occasion, Carlos Jacanamijoy, whose work connects indigenous pictorial tradition with modernity, exhibits 4 pieces.

In 2025, ARCOmadrid will celebrate its 44th edition, with the Amazon as its central project. In addition to the general program, thefair will feature three curated sections: 'Wametisé: ideas for an Amazofuturism'; 'Opening. New galleries'; 'Profiles | Latin American Art'. 'Wametisé: ideas for an Amazofuturism' will focus on new forms of creation representing hybrid existences between the human, vegetal, physical and metaphysical bodies, and will present 24 artists, including Carlos Jacanamijoy.
