Almine Rech is pleased to announce artist Tomokazu Matsuyama's screening of digital works on the facade of the TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, LA, US during Frieze Los Angeles.

For this edition of Frieze Los Angeles, Almine Rech showcases a solo presentation of nine works by Tomokazu Matsuyama, on view at our Booth E11 until February 23, 2025.

Tomokazu Matsuyama creates work that responds to his own bi-cultural experience of growing up between Japan and America by bringing together aspects of both Eastern and Western aesthetic systems. His practice repositions traditional icons within a broader global context in order to create a distinctive style that resists cultural categorization and embodies what the artist refers to as the "struggle of reckoning the familiar local with the familiar global."
