Taipei Dangdai 2025

May 9 — 11, 2025 | Booth 展位 B04

Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center, Hall 1 (4th Floor)
No. 1, Jingmao 2nd Road, Nangang District, Taipei City

For the 2025 edition of Taipei Dangdai, Almine Rech is pleased to present a dynamic selection of works that reflect the gallery’s commitment to showcasing diverse artistic voices across generations.

Our exhibition brings together pioneering 20th-century figures alongside contemporary innovators. Highlights include Tom Wesselmann, a pivotal figure in American Pop Art renowned for his Great American Nude series, and Vietnamese painter Mai-Thu, whose poetic silk paintings capture traditional Vietnamese life through periods of peace and upheaval.

In dialogue with these historic voices, the selection features Larry Poons, Markus Lüpertz, Joseph Kosuth, Rudolf Polanszky, Claire Tabouret, Joël Andrianomearisoa, Kenny Scharf, Matthias Bitzer, Brian Calvin, Taryn Simon, Oliver Beer, Jenny Brosinski, Inès Longevial, and César Piette. Among them, Claire Tabouret’s landscape painting reflects her exploration of memory and transformation, while Kenny Scharf’s Pop Surrealist sculpture embodies his signature vibrant aesthetic.

Central to our presentation is a spotlight on Asian artists such as Keiichi Tanaami, Li Qing, Roby Dwi Antono, and Thu-Van Tran. Among them, an oil painting by Roby Dwi Antono, which demonstrates his ability to blend classical influences with contemporary surrealism.

Encompassing painting, sculpture, and mixed media, our presentation explores identity, materiality, and the intersection of abstraction and figuration, reinforcing the gallery’s dedication to artistic innovation and cross-cultural dialogue.
