Art Basel Hong Kong

For this edition of Art Basel Hong Kong, Almine Rech will showcase an intergenerational group presentation including 20th-century pioneers such as Karel Appel, Ha Chong-Hyun, Marie Laurencin, John Giorno, Markus Lüpertz, Agnes Martin, Pablo Picasso, Serge Poliakoff, Mai-Thu, Lee Ufan, and Tom Wesselmann.

As well as contemporary artists such as Roby Dwi Antono, Oliver Beer, Javier Calleja, George Condo, Genieve Figgis, Jorge Galindo, Mehdi Ghadyanloo, Youngju Joung, Michael Kagan, Minjung Kim, Xu Qu, Taryn Simon, Francesco Vezzoli, Dustin Yellin, and Huang Yuxing.

Each artist presents a unique perspective and distinctive formal language pushing the boundaries of contemporary and modern art. They each delve into the components of visual language, drawing from a range of sources that coalesce into an array of gestures, symbols, and materials. Creating an eloquent dialogue between abstraction and figuration, our presentation will reflect the diverse nature of the gallery’s program.
