'It is said that the human body is composed of eighty percent water, so it is not surprising that a different face appears in the mirror each morning.'
— Claire Tabouret
This summer, Château La Coste is delighted to present a new exhibition by French artist Claire Tabouret in the Renzo Piano Pavilion.
Tabouret returns to her birthplace to showcase a variety of recent works, including paintings on canvas, bronze sculptures, and ceramics resulting from her first collaboration with the Sèvres Ateliers. In her figurative paintings, drawings, and sculptures, the artist delves into the question of identity, with a particular focus on the enigmas of childhood, whether the individual is isolated or within a group.
For this exhibition, Tabouret explores an important theme in art history: mourners.
The artist draws a connection between painful current events and the historical representation of tears of mourning, ecstasy and suffering, which are always associated with women.
