The Warehouse presents 'Room by Room: Concepts, Themes, and Artists in The Rachofsky Collection'. 

'As we spent time with our previous exhibition—Open Storage: 25 Years of Collecting—we discovered that although it provided a substantial overview of the collection, there were many opportunities left unexplored. Simply put, there were a number of important artists and themes we could not include due to limited exhibition space. Room by Room builds on our continued interest in reflecting on the development of the collection by looking at works that have not yet been presented to our audience at The Warehouse. Spanning a range of artistic media, geographies, and eras, each gallery in the exhibition focuses on a single artist or a theme, allowing for a more in-depth look at the artistic movements that have been important to the collection from the beginning, as well as new avenues of interest that have intrigued us over the years.

In the end, there is not one curator of this exhibition, but many, as the show came together through the combined, collaborative efforts of The Warehouse staff. Over the past year, a number of conversations took place about how the collection has expanded its exploration of foundational themes like minimalism, perception, and materiality, as well as its evolution to include new modes of expressive figuration, surrealist influences, and Pop sensibilities. We are grateful for their depth of knowledge and longstanding experience with the collection and their contributions to what we hope will be an enlightening experience for visitors.'
