Streetwork was Philip-Lorca diCorcia's first solo exhibition with the gallery. He is well known for dramatically lit slices of life and portraits, and also for a contemporary version of the Vanitas theme. Three other important exhibitions followed in 2001, 2004 and 2005 at the gallery in Paris.
